How to Use GeneSaver ServicesGeneSaver will send you a little kit that includes all you need to provide us with drops of blood which contain all the DNA required for future genetic analysis when and where you or your heirs wish to have it done. The kit contains a lancet like those used by diabetic patients, a tube to pick up the drops of blood from your fingertip and vials to protect samples from contamination until we can process them for you.Just put the capillary tube containing your blood into the vial, screw the cap on tightly, label it clearly, and return it to GeneSaver with your authorization for DNA preservation. It will be preserved, sealed in a vial inside the custom-engraved style of container you have selected, and returned to you via certified mail in 3 weeks or less. You will also receive a certificate of authenticity. You may keep the container anywhere you wish, at room temperature. The container must be opened with a fine-toothed saw. To avoid any possible contamination, we strongly recommend that this be done in the laboratory chosen to analyze your DNA. Adults should sign individual requests for DNA preservation. We also suggest using your Social Security number as part of the engraved identification. |
